Who we are.

The Kansas Association of Medicaid Health Plans (KAMHP) is a coalition of the private Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) that provide health insurance for Kansans through KanCare (the state’s Medicaid program). KAMHP works with Kansas state agencies, lawmakers and advocacy groups to ensure high-quality healthcare for Kansans.

Through Kancare health plans, MCOs coordinate all of the different types of care a consumer receives. The goals of the KanCare program are to improve overall health outcomes while slowing the rate of cost growth over time. This is accomplished by providing the right care, in the right amount, in the right setting, at the right time. MCOs focus on ensuring that consumers receive the preventive services and screenings they need, and ongoing help with managing chronic conditions.
